Day 1 of February
Happy February First!
I hate this month.
Aside from being a bitter single person who hates Valentine's Day, there are about 3 other reasons I hate this month. 1) Tomorrow is the anniversary of Cameron's death. 2) Anniversary of my breakup with my ex (I'm more pissed off at myself for letting that relationship happen and for as long as it did, rather than the breakup itself. I couldn't care less about the guy, the anniversary is just another reminder of my stupidity). 3) The anniversary of my mental breakdown/first suicide attempt.
So yeah, since about 2005, I have completely hated February, and it looks like it will not be getting better unless I win the lotto or something else amazing happens. Which I don't foresee happening because I don't play the lotto and amazing things don't really happen to me.
Well, that's one way to start off the first post of the month, being super negative and depressing.
I think it stems from the fact that I had to buy new jeans today (I also got my period, and all 3 reasons listed above) that has put me in a crummy mood.
I really need to get on this getting back into shape business on the forefront of my projects this year. I can't keep letting the weather (ie. COLD) be what's stopping me from taking the first step to me losing weight. But I gotta wait for these cramps to subside before I start anything because if not, you'll find me crying in pain, probably throwing up as well. Sometimes I hate being a girl.
Anyways... Let's get onto something a little more positive with-
Day 1: Your Favorite Place.
Again as a reminder, I am tackling another monthly writing challenge, you can read all about it in yesterday's post here. So for the next 28 days, I'll be doing that February Challenge while I figure out what the hell am I doing with this blog.
Ok, my favorite place.
My favorite place actually doesn't exist anymore, or at least not in the incarnation I knew it as. Over the last few years, it has changed completely and I'm sure if I were to visit today I wouldn't really recognize it. And by it, I mean Disney's Hollywood Studios, or as I grew up calling it Disney's MGM Studios.
You can read about one of my favorite memories of Disney's MGM Studios here.
If you've been a regular reader (or know me IRL) you know that I love movies, and the fact that there was a Disney Theme Park dedicated to movies and the art of making movies, yeah I was in heaven every time my family went.
Everything from the replica of the Grauman's Chinese Theater (now known as the TCL Chinese Theater) to the look and feel of Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Blvd. The ambiance of the park was made to make you feel like you were in the idealized vision of what Hollywood was supposed to have been or what we believe it was. And I just wanted to live there.
The rides and shows were a plus too. From the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular to the Backlot Tour, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Star Tours, MGM Studios was my favorite place. And though a lot of the rides I loved may be gone, and the overall vision of the park is changing, it will always be my favorite where I can always revisit in my memory.
(When did this blog become the Titanic callback show? This is the second reference I make this year? I haven't seen this movie since maybe 2012 right before my last Disney Cruise. Interestingly enough I bought it on DVD in 2008 as a Valentine's Day present to myself since the Ex didn't get me anything.)
Anyways, there are a lot of plans currently in motion to spruce up the park, and I have been excitedly following the news to see what magic awaits me if I ever get to return to Disney World.
(If you read yesterday's post where I complained about my money situation, then you know why it's an "ever" rather than a "when" about returning to Orlando).
So yeah, Disney's Hollywood Studios is my favorite place...EVER.
That may change, I just gotta go out and explore some more, but again see the money issue before you hold your breath about my fav changing.
Man I'm snarky and kinda mean today. Gah, I should nap.
