10 Favs, but not necessarily my top 10 favs.

It's inventory day at work, which means after just about 2 weeks of crazy preparation we can finally just count every piece of stock we have.

Yay.

Wish us luck and hope that our numbers aren't too crazy.

And since I have less than 45 mins to punch out this entry, we're just going to dive in.

Day 7: List 10 songs that you're loving right now.

Ok, I'm not the most caught up person with music right now, especially when I'm going through every mp3 that I own and categorizing and rating each song, I don't get much chance to hear something more than once. But this is what I've got.

#1- My Shot from Hamilton: An American Musical

Yeah, I'm a Hamilhead. And this song is just... wow. Not only is it a great "I want" song in a Musical production sense, but it's a great song overall. When I need that little pick me up because I feel like no matter what I do, the end results will not have been worth or worse I know I'll fail, I listen to this song and I get PUMPED!

#2- Last Night at the Jetty by Panda Bear

I posted about this song last year, and the sentiments are still the same. Not sure what it is about it, maybe the hook, maybe the lyrics or the overall feeling of the song, but I could listen to this one on repeat for HOURS.

#3- You Can Call Me Al by Paul Simon

First I dare you not to move when you listen to this song, the bass, the beat, the overall groove... man do I love it. It always reminds me of my dad and when I was little, in fact, I think this song may be my first musical memory. No matter how I feel or where I am, I can put this song and just feel better.

#4- Pure Shores by All Saints

Much like Last Night at the Jetty, this is another song that I can just put on, raise the volume to super loud and check out. It's a simple song, simple hook, but the vocals and the arrangement are just killers. Love it!

#5- Breaking Down by Florence and the Machine

I am a sucker for an orchestral backing. I first heard this song, actually, this entire album during a pretty rough patch in my life (aren't they all rough patches? hehe), and this song really resonated with me to the point on constant replays. It's another one of those "turn up the volume and check out" type of songs.

#6- No Cars Go by Arcade Fire

I loved this song before I heard it in For Lovers Only, and the movie made me love it more. Now every time I hear it, I too want to be in a car driving around France, give or take the extramarital affair.

#7- This Side by Nickel Creek

Actually, everything this trio has done can be listed as my favorite. Seriously, take a listen. It's beautiful

#8 - The First Rule of Flying - Love from the Serenity movie score by David Newman

This entire score just fills my heart, but this little bit that plays at the end right before the credits, yeah makes me want to fly.

#9- Main Title from The Little Mermaid movie score by Alan Menken

The Little Mermaid was the first movie I fell in love it. I saw in theaters and I was that kid who started to cry as soon as the movie ended. I would listen to the tape (yes I had it on audio tape) nonstop, and mom would question why a barely 3-year-old kid would only want to listen to the score and not the vocal tracks, well mom, just listen. The entire score is amazing.

#10- That Day by Natalie Imbruglia

Again, see my previous post from last year, this song is still one of my favorites.

Alright, well I would go more into detail why I love these 10, but as it is, I'm going to be late for work if I keep this up. Listen and enjoy!
